Similar to its predecessors, the Marantz PMD580 uses proven, stable Compact Flash (CF) as its recording medium which has offers increased reliability through nomoving parts. But the Marantz PMD580 takes also incorporates Ethernet connectivity and an internal, browser-style interface allowing control of all operations including scheduling of recordings, machine setup, and file transfer.
